Wow... Never have I been more inspired by a book. Thione details his life growing up in extreme poverty in Senegal, but in a way to explain that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

A phenomenal man with humble beginnings, he continues to not only inspire, but engage and uplift people all over the world. This is a rare glimpse into the nuances of contemporary Senegal, US immigration, politics and Obama's presidential campaign, and global travel. I highly recommend this book to educators, students, and anyone interested in enhancing their global competencies.
