Inspiring work

Tourism is a double-edged sword, in that in can bring revenue into communities, but can also damage fragile ecosystems and social structures. Eco-tourism, when done well, is a thoughtful and careful way to ensure environmental and social objectives are met, while still offering visitors the opportunity to visit magical and inspiring places. But it is also a buzz-word, applied to any "nature tourism" destination. Hitesh's book looks at places where ecotourism is real, and where local people and communities are both involved in, and benefit from the tourism enterprise, as well as where fragile and beautiful ecosystems and wildlife are protected and carefully managed to avoid destruction. The photography is gorgeous and the book is inspiring and thought-provoking. It will help people who want to be responsible and thoughtful in their travel...and give plenty of ideas to visitors whatever their budget. It is also, just simply, a beautiful book.... the world is such an incredible place!

Authentic ecolodges

This is truly an an amazing book. It is written in very easy to read language with superb photographs and illustrations. Hitesh Mehta has succeeded in expressing a unique and passionate insight into some of the most beautiful locations in the world. His journeys have allowed the readers to experience visually and accurately how nature can be moulded in an ecological manner to allow us to enjoy the wonders of our planet. It is a book for all ages and a must for reference libraries and all coffee tables.

Easy to Read & Monumental In Impact and Content

This is not just a book it is AN EVENT !
After starting to read I encountered an emotion rising in myself that conveyed an urgency to continue. There was something different in the entire presentation that evidenced a rare depth of perception and understanding as if I were captured by a new discovery.
The selection of photographs and well crafted text created a sense of purpose in the respect for nature and the local community that transcends the actual words. I am usually not at a loss for words but I am almost speechless in explaining my reaction and I guess - surprise.
I am awed by Hitesh's presentation, demonstrating and explaining environmental science through actual examples, diagrams and photographs.
Truly a masterpiece and a primer for aspirants to the institution and future development of ecotourism and sustainable technology.
