The typeset is HUGE in this very short story

The typeset downloads as though it's a large print edition and even with adjusting it to the smallest sized font on my kindle, it's larger than I prefer. I assume this is done to be able to describe the length as a longer 99 pages but this is a very short story. I finished it in 20 minutes. I'm familiar with the author's preference for novellas with her MC books but even those are a longer length. I understand that "Bear Bites" meant they were short right away, but would rather know the actual page number and have normal formatting.
The brief nature of the book made everything seem too rushed for me. We're introduced to the characters and setting, the conflict happens, sex scenes and the conclusion. It's all bam, bam, bam, bam. I normally love this author's writing style but there was not enough time to develop characters much more than on a shallow level. It's hard for me to picture the heroine as an adult woman who has owned her own business for several years, physically described as dressing like a vintage pin-up sex kitten, but still a virgin. That's just my opinion. If you're reading through kindle unlimited the brief nature of this series might not be an issue but for myself, someone who buys them, I'll probably skip the rest of this group.

Love, Sexy must read

Let me say I have never read any books by Ruby Dixon, not a big fan of shifters but this lady has made a believer outta me. I absolutely loved this short story about Adelaide an Cole. She has it bad for this bear shifter . He talks to her she wants more she wants him. He's crazy about Adelaide only problem is he is a bear shifter an she doesn't know it. She has her shop right across from his shop watches him wanting him to make a move in her direction but she can't get the stubborn alpha male to give her the time of day except to speak an a few words.
Cole wants her but with him being so big an her a little thing he is afraid he will hurt her an doesn't want to take any chances of that. She comes into his shop looking for things for a hiking trip she hints at him casually but he's just to set in his ways to try to avoid her as I said he's big an doesn't want to do anything that will scare her.
She plans a hiking trip with Pat an Cole is seeing red. He finds out that she is going with other people but he doesn't trust Pat.
When the time for the trip comes up Adelaide gets her stuff together to go join the rest of the group but finds out that's it is just gonna be her an him. She feels weird bout it but she trust him an goes along.
Now the hig bad alpha male bear gets word that it's just her an Pat, Cole goes after her.
He knows Pat is up to no good. He makes it to their camp an hears what is going on with them. His bear is loose an he runs, literally runs a screaming Pat down the path.
He comes back to Adelaide she notices something is different about Cole. She has him there she wants him an nothing is stopping het this time. Cole tells her he is a bear shifter but she wants him anyway. He is still afraid he will hurt her. She eases his fears an it gets hot an steamy in the tent. This is an amazing story I loved every minute of this book. This is book (1) of (4) This isn't a cliffhanger it's just a great book...

Hot lumbersexual bear!

Damn right, Miss Dixon can!
This is one sweet and hot story.
Cole is a werebear who has been struggling with his attraction towards, the very human, Adelaide.
Oh yeah, did I mention that he has been struggling FOR 3 YEARS??
It is slightly different from her Ice Planet Barbarian series (duh!! that is about aliens and this is about shifters), but the insta-love/ lust thing and the protective male is sort of similar.
Not that you shouldn't read if, if you already read the other series. Just trying to give you a feel for it.
It was a quick read, but I loved it all the same.
